June 12, 2020

New $35 Million Investment Will Support Over 300 Jobs

Today, Intersect Development Group (“Intersect”) announced its plans to develop Huntsville 565 Logistics, a three (3) building, 400,000 square foot logistics park.

The Huntsville 565 Logistics park expects to be home to over three hundred workers and represents an investment of over $35,000,000 into the Huntsville area. The developers indicated that construction should begin Fall of 2020 with the first phase of 144,000 square feet delivering Q1 2021. The 32’ clear, Concrete tilt-up, Class “A” industrial facilities are designed to meet the needs of the growing e-commerce industry and local logistical / service requirements.

“In recent years, Huntsville has been one of the country’s emerging economic development engines with a great community that understands what it takes to grow and support jobs. We are excited to be part of this entrepreneurial spirit and develop a new Class “A” project that will create hundreds of jobs in Huntsville,” said Scott Brown, a Founding Partner with Intersect.

The development will be located on 47 acres at the Greenbrier, Chase Farm exit on I-565 immediately adjacent to the GE Aviation facility. This area of west Huntsville and this particular exit on I-565 have seen rapid growth with the recent development of several large distribution and manufacturing facilities to include Federal Express, Target, Polaris, and the new $1.6 billion Toyota Mazda manufacturing plant currently under construction.

This is the first of several planned developments by Intersect for 2020. In addition to Huntsville 565 Logistics park, Intersect has a site under contract in Greensboro, NC for over 500,000 square feet and is looking at several other sites throughout the growth corridors of the southeast.
